Darla was abandoned at Gulfgate Animal Hospital when someone left her tied to the front door in June 2012. Dr. Palmer took her in, vetted and spayed her and has been trying to find her a home. Her staff contacted every rescue group in Houston they could think of and were told by everyone that no dogs are being accepted.
Darla is living in boarding and Barrio Dogs is helping to find her a home. When abandoned, she had recently had puppies and was lactating but the puppies were nowhere to be found.
Darla is approximately 1½ years old and weighs 53 lbs. She is microchipped, spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and has the Proheart shot (6 month heartworm prevention).
